JAKE'S STORY
Jake O’Kane is one of NI’s best known comics. He has appeared regularly on both television and radio for almost three decades across a wide range of formats. He has presented a number of documentaries, commented on national news programmes, been educated in the mysteries of football during the Euros, had the wonderful worlds of etiquette and opera opened to him and was panellist on BBC NI’s ‘The Blame Game’.
He also wrote a weekly column in The Irish News for seven years, commenting on politics, the human condition and everything in between.
It is the live stage, however, where Jake is most at home. His ‘end of year review show’ has become an annual favourite with his fans, selling out theatres around NI for over a decade.
Jake has always refused to recognise any divide in his audience, playing sold-out shows both at Féile an Phobail and the Spectrum Centre on the Shankill Road. He has the rare talent to cross all political and religious denominations, taking an honest, critical and very funny look at politics, religion, society and himself.
