AS I watched the Remembrance Sunday service from London last weekend, I was struck by the numbers of Indian, African and other old soldiers from the corners of the Commonwealth marching past the Cenotaph.

I wondered how the likes of Ukip MLA David McNarry — who continually argues against immigration — felt as he
watched those ranks of non-white heroes.

It can’t have been easy viewing for those who want to build a wall around the United Kingdom.Those they want kept out of the country are the same stock as those who fought and died in the past to defend it.
